Research Associate
Faculty of Engineering and Technology

Dr. Constantinos Panagiotou is a physicist with a strong interest in fluid flows and their associated mass and heat transport phenomena. He holds BSc degree in Physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. He received a PhD degree from the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Cyprus in 2016. During his PhD studies, he was involved in research projects funded by different agencies, such as Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation (RPF), EUROfusion, the US Army International Technology Center and the US Air Force European Office of Aerospace Research and Development.

After the completion of his PhD, he worked for two years as a PostDoctoral fellow at the University of Tokyo in Japan. His work there was funded by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). Among other activities, he was involved in the development of innovative optimization algorithms for use in robotic systems, such as Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) and walking robots. He recently joined the Eratosthenes team, under the guidance of Professor Kyriakides. He is currently involved in the MEDSAL project, in which he focuses on the application of geostatistical methods for the mapping of saltwater intrusion in coastal aquifers.

He has published several papers in scientific journals and conferences.
