Dr. Maria Krambia-Kapardis is currently a Professor of Accounting with a specialization in Forensic Accounting at the Cyprus University of Technology. Professor Krambia-Kapardis is also the Associate Dean of the School of Management and Economics at the same University. Maria is the founder and first Chair of Transparency International-Cyprus (2010-2017), the founder and first president of the Economic Crime and Forensic Accounting Committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (2010-2014) and a co-founder and member of the Board of the Cyprus Branch of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE- Cyprus) (2017- ). Her research interests are corruption and anti-corruption; ethical behaviour; fraud detection, investigation and prevention; and ethical leadership. She has published extensively internationally including books such as (a) Financial Compliance: Issues, Concerns, and Future Directions and (b)Corporate Fraud and Corruption: A Holistic Approach to Preventing Financial Crises. She is a Fellow member of Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand and a Certified Fraud Examiner. She has been awarded a number of prizes for her publications by Emerald Literati Network and the ACFE awarded her the global Achievement in Outreach/Community Service Award for being an active contributor to her community and being committed to helping improve the quality of life where she lives and works. Pavlos Symeou is an Associate Professor in the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management. He obtained his PhD from Judge Business School of the University of Cambridge, specializing in business economics. Previously, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Strategy, Technology and Organizations of the University of Munich. His research interests revolve around the examination of marketing capabilities, absorptive capacity, and corporate social performance and their role in business organizations’ strategy. He has taught at the University of Munich, the University of Cambridge, and the Cyprus International Institute of Management, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His teaching portfolio includes courses in marketing, corporate innovation, management in the industries of electronic communications, and research methods.

Dr George Kokkinidis is an Assistant Professor in HRM at the Department of Management, Entrepreneurship and Digital Business. He holds an MSc in Management and a PhD from the University of Leicester and he has worked in various Universities in the UK.

 

His research interests lie in the field of Management and Organisation Studies, drawing inspiration from sociology, philosophy, political theory, and human geography. He is particularly interested in interdisciplinary and qualitative research, specialising in alternative forms of organisation and organising. His research interests extend to a range of HRM and management related topics such as the organisation of space, employees’ wellbeing, employees’ emotions and attitudes to work. In recent years, he has been involved in major funded projects related to social economy education (funded by the European Commission) and health care (funded by the UKRI-AHRC). He has widely published in some of the top journals in his field and most of his recent publications and works in progress are based on collaborations with third sector organisations.

 

He is also a Fellow in HEA and his teaching and supervision expertise covers a range of areas associated with HRM, management, organisation studies, cooperative studies and social entrepreneurship. He is interested in supervising PhD students across any of these areas, and particularly interested in topics related to:

 

• Alternative forms of organising

 

• Workers’ cooperatives

 

• Grassroots health care initiatives and Social Clinics

 

• Social movements and solidarity initiatives

 

• The social organisation of space and time

 

• Employees' emotions and attitudes to work

Constantinos Kontoghiorghes currently teaches the Human Resource Management, Leadership, and Organizational Behavior related curriculum at the Cyprus University of Technology. He received his Ph.D. from Georgia State University and his Masters and Bachelor degrees from The Ohio State University. He has published widely in the areas of training transfer, talent management and organizational performance, and has twice received the “Cutting Edge” Research award from the Academy of Human Resource Development in the United States. His current research work involves a four-year Horizon 2020 funded project in the area of “female entrepreneurship”

Dr. Elias Hadjilias (PhD, FHEA) is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship of Management of Hotel and Tourism Department of the Cyprus University of Technology. He holds a PhD degree from the University of Lancaster (UK) in Management specialized in Entrepreneurship, a MSc in International Business Administration from University of Manchester (UK) and a BA in Business Administration from University of Kingston (UK).

 

Before joining the Cyprus University of Technology, he was Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at UClan Cyprus and Director of CEDAR (Centre of Entrepreneurial Development, Alliance and Research). He also has consulting experience on new businesses and business development issues.

 

Elias teaches entrepreneurship to undergraduate and postgraduate level. His research includes issues such as business groups, entrepreneurship in family businesses, sustainable entrepreneurship and business-to-business collaborations and co-operations. He has published scientific articles in international prestigious journals in the field of entrepreneurship.

Ariana Polyviou is a Lecturer at the Department of Management, Entrepreneurship and Digital Business. She holds a PhD in Management of Information Systems (Athens University of Economic and Business), MSc in Human-Computer Interaction (University College London) and BEng in Computer Science (University of York). Previously she has served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Nicosia, Adjunct Professor at IE Business School and visiting researcher at the LSE. She has received several awards and scholarships for her research, including the AIS Mid-Career Award and Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship.

Research Activities

Her research focuses on the business and social impact of technology including human-centered AI, metaverse, cloud computing and blockchain and emphasizing on topics relevant to digital innovation and entrepreneurship, digital business strategy, digital transformation, technology policy and technology adoption. Her work has been published in journals including Journal of the Association of Information Systems, Journal of Information Technology, Information Systems Frontiers and others. She has attracted funding and served as a principal investigator or co-principal institutional investigator in 20+ research projects funded by the European Commission and she has served as an evaluator for research proposals of the European. She is currently co-principal investigator of a network of 17 doctoral candidates on the topic of metaverse for business and social value.

 

Service

She has been a guest editor for various special issues in journals and she served as Program Co-chair, Track Chair and Associate Editor of AIS-affiliated conferences (e.g., ICIS, ECIS, MCIS) over multiple years. She is a member of Cyprus’ national committee of Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM). In the past she has served as a member of Cyprus’ national committee of the Digital Championship and a mentor in multiple entrepreneurship centers and incubators in Cyprus and Greece as well as a committee member of several startup competitions.

 

 

Angelos Vouldis

He is a consultant, researcher, author, speaker and lecturer. He has implemented numerous projects in "rebranding" people and businesses in Cyprus. "Rebranding" including: brand strategy identity, redesigns, business performance developments. In addition to his academic publications, he is an editorial member of Electronic Journal of Knowledge Management and Journal of Organisational Studies and Innovation (JOSI). He is currently a lecturer in European University - International Business School in Barcelona and at the Robert Kennedy College in Switzerland, teaching business courses, supervising and marking MBA and MA theses. Additionally, he has extensive teaching experience in the department of Business School at the University of West London, the Cyprus Institute of Marketing and the Mediterranean Institute of Management (MIM) - Cyprus. Beyond his academic career his resumes trace a history of extensive management background, experience and accomplishment in all aspects of strategic planning, performance management, sales and marketing management with Mercedes-Benz Cyprus.

Dr. Lambros Labrianou is a special scientist at the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management at the Cyprus University of Technology. At the same time, he is employed as a Special Scientist at the Department of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Cyprus and is General Coordinator of the Institute of Social Research "ergotaxio". He holds a doctorate in Sociology from the Institute of Sociology of the Philosophical School (2010) of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany.
