Chinese Ambassador’s Fund Award Ceremony

The Confucius Institute at the Cyprus University of Technology is proud to announce the successful completion of two major events which took place on 8 December 2025: the 2025 Chinese Ambassador’s Fund Award Ceremony and the inauguration of the exhibition Art Across the Dynasties – Sino-Cypriot Collaborative Interpretation of Representative Works from A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings.”

Both events underscore the university’s continued dedication to strengthening international partnerships, promoting academic excellence, and advancing intercultural exchange. Diplomats from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, together with academic staff, administrative personnel, and students, were present to mark the occasion.

The Chinese Ambassador’s Fund, created to promote cooperation and mutual understanding between Cyprus and China, supported seven innovative initiatives aimed at deepening Sino-Cypriot collaboration. The ceremony celebrated the successful completion of these projects, highlighting the noteworthy achievements of the academic staff and students who were awarded.

In parallel with the award ceremony, CUT opened the exhibition Art Across the Dynasties, developed in close cooperation with Zhejiang University. The exhibition presents 50 representative works from A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings, accompanied by descriptions in Chinese, English, and Greek. The project reflects a strong academic partnership and a meticulous trilingual interpretation process carried out by the Confucius Institute at CUT, specialists from the School of Art and Archaeology at Zhejiang University and the Department of Fine Arts at CUT, as well as contributors from various CUT departments and services. A trilingual digital booklet has also been created to broaden public access to the collection.

The exhibition makes an important contribution to enhancing public appreciation of China’s artistic heritage, strengthening cultural and scholarly ties between the two nations, and enriching the growing range of Sino-Cypriot collaborations at CUT. The Cyprus University of Technology remains committed to further deepening its partnerships with Chinese institutions as it continues to promote shared knowledge and creativity.
