Board Responsibilities

The University Council is responsible for the management and control of administrative and financial affairs as well as the property of the University. In particular, it establishes the annual budget and allocates funds to research, building infrastructure and overall development of the University.

The Council's objective is to promote in the best possible way the interests and purposes of the University, in cooperation with the Senate and other bodies of the University.

The University Council is composed of the following members:

• Rector and Vice-Rectors of the University
• three Professors or Associate Professors of the University, who (i) are elected by the entire (elected) teaching and research staff, (ii) belong to three different schools, and (iii) are not members of the Senate,
• seven members, appointed by the Council of Ministers and are not members of the University staff
• three members appointed by the Senate and are not members of the University staff
• two members of teaching and research staff (being integrated), elected by all members of this staff,
• one member representing the administrative staff, elected by all of the staff and
• one member representing students of the University, which is elected by all the students of the University.
• The Administration and Finance Director of the University (without voting rights).
