Anastasios Zopiatis, a Hotel and Tourism Management Professor at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), holds a BSc degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration from the University of Southern Illinois at Carbondale, an MSc degree in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, and a Doctorate in Professional Studies from Middlesex University, United Kingdom. Prior to joining CUT, he worked in private tertiary education in Cyprus, both as a hospitality and tourism educator and program coordinator. He has also worked in Las Vegas as a Human Resources Specialist and Beverage Manager. His research interests include hospitality internship practices, hospitality human resources management, pedagogical issues, political instability and tourism, and ethics in the academic environment. His research work has been published in top tier international journals such as Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, the International Journal of Hospitality Management, the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, and the Journal of Business Ethics.

Dr. Alexis Saveriades is a Professor of Tourism Policy, Planning and Development. He is a University of Surrey (UK) graduate (B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.) in the fields of Tourism Planning and Development. Under a Fulbright Commission Scholarship, he also studied in the field of Strategic Management at Cornell University in the US.
He enjoys extensive teaching experience (27 years) at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the fields of Hospitality and Tourism as well as extensive experience in curriculum design, curriculum evaluation and in managing educational organisations.
Dr. Saveriades served for 8 years from the position of Member and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation where he was actively involved in strategic planning and policy formulation for the development of Tourism in Cyprus. In March 2010 he was appointed to head the National Strategic Plan for Tourism for the period 2011-2015.
His research activities focus on policy formulation and strategic planning for the development and governance of tourism with emphasis on Island economies, the impacts emanating from tourism development, as well as in sustainable and alternative forms of tourism development, and tourism carrying capacity.

Dr Antonis Theocharous is an Associate Professor and Director of the Heraclitus Research Centre for Social Research and Regional Development. He has served as national representative for Cyprus for the Programme Committee for Social Sciences and Humanities of the EU's Horizon and 7th Framework Programme. Dr. Theocharous has also served as National Coordinator for two ESFRI projects: the European Social Survey (ESS) and the Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities (DARIAH). He also acted as a scientific coordinator for more than 30 EU or nationally funded research projects including the development of the Smart Specialisation strategy for the Republic of Cyprus. His research is interdisciplinary and focuses on deviant behaviours, crime and substance use, the links between political instability and tourism development and innovation policies as tools for regional regeneration. He has published in leading academic journals on topics such as political instability and tourism development, cross cultural examination of the impact of political instability on tourism development at the regional level, various models of tourism destination choice, and mass media depictions of various facets of political instability.

Constantinos Papadopoulos is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management. Upon his graduation from the University of Strathclyde he accumulated fourteen years of working experience in the hotel industry in Cyprus, the eleven of which as hotel general manager. In 2000 he was employed as a Human Resource Officer, expert in Hospitality and Tourism, by the Human Resource Development Authority of Cyprus. In 2003, he was offered the position of Head of Hospitality Studies at the Higher Hotel Institute Cyprus, where he headed the department of Continuing Education, Research and Consultancy Services. In January of 2008 he joined the faculty at CUT. Constantinos is the departmental Erasmus coordinator, coordinates the department’s student internships and he lectures on hospitality and tourism special interest topics. He has represented the department on the Dean’s Faculty Council and has also served on the Senate and Senate Committees on Public Relations and Publications, Buildings Infrastructure and ICT. His interests include the use of PMS in hotel operations, innovation in hospitality, outsourcing, internships and continuing education. He has presented research at several international academic conferences.

Savvas Sakkadas is Assistant Professor in the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management. He has MA in International Relations from Indianapolis University (USA) and (MBA) in International Business from Fairleigh Dickinson University as well as a (B.Sc) degree in Hotel & Catering Management from the same University. He is also a licensed Cyprus Tourism Organization, Tourist Guide. He studied in the field of Developing Tourism in Small State Islands at Tesamek Polytechnic in Singapore. He has eighteen years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level in the fields of hospitality and tourism in private and public tertiary education in Cyprus. He served as College Coordinator for Travel and Tourism Studies at Intercollege, and as the Head of the Hospitality Studies at the Higher Hotel Institute, Cyprus. His research activities focus on Cultural Heritage Tourism, Interpretation of Heritage Sites, and Visitors’ Authentic experience.

Anna Farmaki is an Assistant Professor in Tourism Management at the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management at the Cyprus University of Technology. She holds a PhD in Marketing from Nottingham Trent University. She also holds a Master's degree in Marketing from Kingston University and a BA in Business Management from the University of Westminster, London. In the past, she worked as a lecturer and a programme leader for Hospitality and Tourism Management programmes in private higher education institutions in Cyprus. Her research has been published in reputable, peer-reviewed scientific journals and she has participated in international scientific conferences and workshops. She has also been invited as a speaker in universities abroad whereas currently she is visiting lecturer at Stralsund University of Applied Sciences in Germany. She is a member of the Higher Education Academy of the United Kingdom and a representative of the Republic of Cyprus in European COST Actions.

Sotiroula Liasidou has a PhD in Management (with emphasis on Tourism and Air Transport Management) from the University of Exeter, UK, an MSc in Tourism Management from the University of Surrey, UK and a BA (Hons) in Hospitality Management from Middlesex University, UK. Her academic qualifications also include an HND in Hotel and Catering Management from the Higher Hotel Institute of Cyprus. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management, Faculty of Management and Economics, at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT).

Dr. Prokopis A. Christou is a Tourism Academic in the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management of the Cyprus University of Technology. He obtained his PhD in Tourism from Nottingham Business School (NTU). He also holds a Master’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Education and a Bachelor in Hospitality Management, both from Victoria University of Technology (Melbourne- Australia). Furthermore, he has obtained tourism diplomas from IATA, and Cambridge University. He is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy, while he has published a number of academic articles in prestigious tourism journals, such as, Annals in Tourism Research (ABS- 4), Tourism Management (ABS- 4), International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management (ABS- 3), International Journal of Hospitality Management (ABS- 3), Journal of Sustainable Tourism (ABS- 3), και Current Issues in Tourism (ABS- 2).

Dr. Petros Kosmas is a Lecturer at the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management (HTM) of Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). He serves also as an Assistant Coordinator and Researcher at the Research Center for Social Science and Regional Development "HERACLITUS" of CUT. He received his PhD and Master's Degree in “Sustainable Development” from Harokopio University of Athens (HUA), Greece. As a Special Scientist during the period 2006-2008 he had teaching and research duties at Harokopio University of Athens. In 2012 he was placed as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Department of HTM. From 2013 until 2019 he served as the Coordinator of the Department of Business Administration at Cyprus College. Since 2017 he represents the Research Centre “HERACLITUS" and the Department of HTM of CUT at the UNITWIN-UNESCO NETWORK "Culture, Tourism and Development". His research interests concerns in understanding processes towards Sustainable Development and Cultural Diversity in the world through Responsible Tourism and Rural Development.

Katerina Pericleous has a PhD in Statistics (with emphasis in Experimental Designs) from the School of Applied Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the National Technical University of Athens, Greece. She was a scholarship holder of the Cyprus State Scholarship Foundation and the Special Account for Research Funds of the National Technical University of Athens. She has also an MSc in Applied Statistics from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Cyprus and a BA (Hons) in Mathematics and Statistics from the same Department of the University of Cyprus.
Currently, Katerina Pericleous is a Special Teaching Staff in the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management, Faculty of Management and Economics, at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). Previously, she has also worked as a Special Scientist at the University of Cyprus as well as at the National Technical University of Athens and as a research associate at the Department of Health Science of the European University Cyprus. Her research interests focus on Experimental Designs, Applied Statistics, Probability Theory, Econometric Models and Biostatistics.
She participated in local and international conferences and published her work in peer-reviewed academic journals. In 2009 she was awarded first prize for the best paper by a young statistician from the Greek Statistical Institute. She is a member of the Greek Statistical Institute (GSI) and the Cyprus Statistical Society (CSS).
