Lorenz Widmaier is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts. His research fellowship is part of the European Training Network “Participatory Memory Practices. Concepts, strategies, and media infrastructures for envisioning socially inclusive potential futures of European Societies through culture” (POEM).
Lorenz holds an MA in "Photography and Urban Cultures" from Goldsmiths College (UK), and a BA in "Communication & Cultural Management" from Zeppelin Universität (Germany). Until 2018 he was running a digital agency in Berlin and worked as a graphic designer, photographer, and web/app developer. He gave lectures about web publishing, blogging, photography, and social media at Universität Hamburg (Germany). Research interests:

Marianna Ioannou is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Multimedia & Graphic Arts. She holds a BA in Pedagogical Sciences from the Department of Education of the University of Cyprus and a MA in Language Learning from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She also holds a MA in Interactive Multimedia from the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts of Cyprus University of Technology.
She works as a teacher in a primary school from 2000.
Her research interests include: Emerging interactive learning environments for primary students, embodied learning, STEM education, problem-solving, knowledge construction.

Stella Timotheou is a PhD student at the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts and her research is being conducted at the Interactive Laboratory of the Cyprus University of Technology.She holds a BA from the Department of Education of the University of Cyprus and a master's degree from the Department of Communication and Internet Studies of the Cyprus University of Technology.
Since 2000 she has been working as a teacher in primary schools in Cyprus. She has participated in several conferences and seminars on pedagogical issues. Her research interests focus on issues such as technology integration in the teaching of various courses, the design and assessment of learning environments through the integration of educational robotics, the use of educational robotics to enhance collaboration and the process of acquiring knowledge around the STEAM fields, technology interplay, the collaborative creativity and playful learning through hands-on and craft activities.

Thomas Pouliasis studied architectural design ( MA in Design ), classical piano and music theory. Ιn the context of his studies he researched the interaction between music and architecture, while he attended several training seminars and workshops in music technology ( Greece, Holland ). Since 2008 he collaborates with dance theatre companies and independent artists as a sound and music designer ( Greece, France ). His current research interest concerns electroacoustic music composition and sound art.

Zoe Anastasiadou is a Research Associate at Visual Media Computing research lab. She holds a postgraduate degree in Interactive Multimedia and a degree in Multimedia and Graphic Arts, focusing on Multimedia, both from the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts, Cyprus University of Technology. Her research interests include UI/UX Design and Well-being Mobile Applications Design. Currently, she is undertaking doctoral studies supervised by Dr. Andreas Lanitis in the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts, Cyprus University of Technology.

Charalambos Margaritis is a graduate of the National Superior Fine Arts School of Paris (ENSBA). His work is centered around animated films, print-making, drawing, painting and comics. He lives and works in Paphos, where, in 2015, he co-founded Kimonos Art Center. Since 2017, he has been directing the annual international animation festival The Animattikon Project. His films have been selected and awarded in several film festivals around the world. Since 2018 he has been the ambassador of the European Animation Awards in Cyprus. Since 2019 he teaches animation in the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts of the Cyprus University of Technology.

Eleni A. Dimitriadou has received her BSc degree in Applied Mathematics from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Cyprus in 2017. In 2019, Eleni received her M.A. degree in Interactive Multimedia from the Cyprus University of Technology. During her postgraduate studies, worked as a researcher at the Visual Media Computing research lab. Eleni, has participated in conferences and published her work in journals and conferences and she served as a reviewer for international journals related to her research interests. Her research interests include emerging technologies with focus on educational technologies. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D degree in the department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts at the Cyprus University of Technology

Jenny Pickett is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Multimedia & Graphic Arts, where she is attached to the Media Arts and Design (MAD) Research Lab. Her research interests include critical approaches to technology, interactivity, hybrid and participatory practices in art. Her thesis is : Do it with others (DIWO), Methodologies for artistic production and education.
She holds a BA in Fine Art from Falmouth College of Arts and an MA in Interactive Media: Critical Theory and Practice from Goldsmiths, University of London. She is a member of the artist collective APO33 (art and technology research lab) in France and is currently teaching ‘Art and Techniques of Representation’ at the Nantes School of Architecture (ENSA).

Myrto Aristidou is a PhD student in the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts. Her research focuses on current museum practices around the exhibition, acquisition and preservation of artworks made with the use of Virtual and Augmented Reality technologies.
Myrto holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Athens School of Fine Arts (2009) and a master’s degree on Heritage and Interpretation, Department of Museum Studies of the University of Leicester, UK (2013). She is currently a Research Associate in ITICA Multidisciplinary group of CYENS CoE. She also collaborates with art studios, cultural organizations and museums as a visual arts and museum educator, and researcher.

Thanos Vozikis graduated from the Department of Architectural Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2019, holding a 5-year scholarship. With a focus on Computational Design and his interest in music, his dissertation focused on Sound-Generated Spaces.
During his studies, he had the opportunity to study at the M.Arch of the Università degli Studi di Cagliari in Italy through the Erasmus + program. After his studies he worked as a 3D Designer in Greece and France.
Today, he is a PhD candidate in the Media Arts and Design Research Lab of the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts. His research interests include topics such as: Generative Art, Spatial Experience, Sound and Architecture.

Ali Najm is a PhD candidate at the Microsoft Computer Games and Emerging Technologies Research Lab (GET Lab) of the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts, Cyprus University of Technology. He has received his BSc degree in Engineering from Azad University of Tehran, Iran (2009) and an M.A. degree in Business Administration from University of Cyprus (2012). He is experienced in design and developing applications and games using controlling and monitoring sensors. Since 2020, he is a Research Associate at CYENS research Center. His research interests include controlling sensors, interactive applications, video games and virtual reality.

George Pallaris is a PhD candidate in the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts of the Cyprus University of Technology. He holds a BSc in Computer Science (Hons) Computing from Northumbria University in Newcastle and a MSc in Information Systems Management from the University of Liverpool. Since 2009 is employed at Cyprus College Limassol as Program Coordinator and Instructor of the BSc Computer Science and Dip Computer Technology, with more than 3000 teaching hours. He is also engaged as a research associate in two research programs, FeSTEM -Female Empowerment in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in Higher Education - and GRATOS (Graph Theoretical Tools In Science).

Leantros Kyriakoullis is a PhD candidate at the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts. He holds a BSc in Computer Science (University of Nicosia, Frederick Institute of Technology) and an MSc in Electronic Commerce (University of Manchester). He has 15 years of experience in the Information Technology sector and worked for private companies, public administration as well as for the European Institutions in Brussels. His research focuses on culture and how it can influence user behaviour and perceptions about interactive systems. More specifically, it focuses on social networks due to high participation levels of users from various countries and the rapid growth of recent years.

Christina Zavlanou is a PhD candidate at the Visual Media Computing Research Lab, Cyprus University of Technology. Her research interests focus on Virtual Reality-based simulation of age-related changes. Christos Hadjipanayi is a graduate of the Cyprus University of Technology. He received a B.Sc. degree in Communication and Internet Studies in 2017 and an M.A. degree in Interactive Multimedia in 2019. Christos worked as a Research Associate of the CYENS Centre of Excellence, under the “Virtual Reality for Well-being” MRG. He is currently a Research Associate of GET Lab. Yeshwanth Kumar Adimoolam is a PhD candidate at the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts, working under the guidance of Prof. Andreas Lanitis. He also works as a Research Associate in the Visual Computing Group at CYENS CoE, under the supervision of Dr Melinos Averkiou. Yeshwanth received an M.Tech. degree in Geoinformatics from the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (2020) where his work focused on implementing machine learning techniques for the accurate estimation of above-ground volumes of mangrove forests from terrestrial LiDAR scans. He also received a B.E. in Civil Engineering from Anna University (2017). His primary research interests include 3D computer vision, reconstruction of urban landscapes, visualisation and deep learning applications for 3D data processing, etc.

Lazaros Rafail Kouzelis is a graduate of the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts - Multimedia specialization (2013) and received his master's degree in Digital Cultural Products Design from the University of the Aegean (2021). Today he is a PhD student in Cyprus University of Technology, working on his research in the Media Arts and Design Lab (MADLab).
He has created and participated in various projects, such as Sticklebacks (Leeds, 2022) and The Fall of R'Thea (CYENS Nicosia, 2022).
His areas of interest orbit around narrative design and 3D modelling, including 3D environment art, artificial intelligence, innovative narrative techniques and Virtual Reality experience design.

Iliana Koulafeti is a PhD student in the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts, with a background in History-Archaeology (National and Kapodestrian University of Athens/2013) and a master's degree in Contemporary Greek History (University of Cyprus/2019). Her research focuses on the formation of identities of displaced people in Cyprus in periods of conflict, using oral history and technology. She is interested in the creative use of oral history and its application in formal and informal education. She is the creator of the People of Cyprus Oral History Project (www.peopleofcyprus.cy) and a founding member of the Cyprus Oral History Association.

Alexia Achilleos is a PhD student in the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts. Her practice-based research examines the social impact of AI from a local Cypriot perspective, through a decolonial and feminist lens.

Antreas Panagi is a graphic communication designer and a PhD student at the Semiotics and Visual Communication Lab of the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts, Cyprus University of Technology, with full scholarship. His research interests focus on poster design, semiotics, national identity, and popular culture. He holds an MA in Graphic Communication Design from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (2022), being awarded a Postgraduate Scholarship based on Academic Merit, and a BA in Multimedia and Graphic Arts from Cyprus University of Technology (2020), achieving the highest average grade in his class. Antreas is a teaching assistant at the department while participating in several creative International projects and biennials. He has taken part in various speeches, workshops, and contests as a speaker, facilitator, and juror in Cyprus and abroad. His work has been awarded and distinguished in several National and International contests/exhibitions, and part of his professional work has been published in publications, websites, and articles around the world.

Konstantinos Digkas is a PhD student at the Department of Graphic Arts and Multimedia of Cyprus University of Technology. His research focuses on city branding and digital media. He is a member of the Semiotics and Visual Communication Lab and of the thematic network on the semiotics of digital worlds (Hellenic Semiotic Society). His research interests revolve around place branding, city identity and sustainability, digital marketing and green marketing.
