The aim of the course is to investigate the role of illustration as a means of communication and expression in the contemporary arts and design by correlating visual thinking, research skills and storytelling ability.

Students will have the opportunity to test and apply their practical skills and expand the creative possibilities in terms of both production and distribution, incorporating a vast range of early traditional illustration tools to an array of cutting-edge contemporary media through a series of experimental design assignments in a variety of conventional and non-conventional contexts.

The course will enable the students to develop sustainable creative models that respond and contribute to the expanding field of contemporary illustration evaluating the often-invisible boundaries of fine and applied arts.
