Βενετία Παπά
Η Βενετία Παπά (Ph.D.) είναι Επίκουρη Καθηγήτρια Δημοσιογραφίας και Ψηφιακών Μέσων στο Τμήμα Επικοινωνίας και Σπουδών Διαδικτύου του Τεχνολογικού Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου. Προηγουμένως, έχει εργαστεί στο Τμήμα Κοινωνικών και Πολιτικών Επιστημών του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου. Έλαβε το διδακτορικό της στις Σπουδές Επικοινωνίας και Διαδικτύου από το Τεχνολογικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου (ΤΕΠΑΚ) και το Πανεπιστήμιο του Παρισιού 8 Vincennes-Saint Denis, ενώ τα μεταπτυχιακά και προπτυχιακά της διπλώματα τα απέκτησε από το Πανεπιστήμιο της Νίκαιας Sophia Antipolis στη Γαλλία. Η διδακτορική της διατριβή επικεντρώθηκε στον ρόλο των ΜΚΔ στην διαμόρφωση της πολιτικής και συλλογικής ταυτότητας στο πλαίσιο του κινήματος των Αγανακτισμένων σε Γαλλία και Ελλάδα, λαμβάνοντας την υψηλότερη διάκριση (Mention Très Honorable avec Félicitations du Jury).
Τα ερευνητικά της ενδιαφέροντα της επικεντρώνονται στις νέες τεχνολογίες, την δημοσιογραφία και την πολιτειότητα. Η έρευνα της της εμβαθύνει σε θέματα όπως η αλγοριθμική επιμέλεια και η δημοσιογραφία, εξετάζοντας τον τρόπο με τον οποίο οι αλγόριθμοι και η αυτοματοποίηση επηρεάζουν την παραγωγή ειδήσεων και την εμπλοκή του κοινού με τα μέσα ενημέρωσης. Επιπλέον, διερευνά τον ρόλο των πλατφορμών κοινωνικής δικτύωσης όπως το Facebook, το Instagram και το Twitter στη διαμόρφωση της πολιτικής ταυτότητας, καθώς και την εξάπλωση των ψευδών ειδήσεων και τη σημασία της ψηφιακής εγγραμματοσύνης στα ΜΜΕ. Η τελευταία της έρευνα διερευνά τις επιπτώσεις των πλατφορμών και της τεχνητής νοημοσύνης στις δημοσιογραφικές πρακτικές.
Η Βενετία έχει συμμετάσχει σε ευρωπαϊκά ερευνητικά προγράμματα, είτε ως εμπειρογνώμονας ή ως συντονίστρια. Συμμετέχει ενεργά σε μεγάλης κλίμακας έργα χρηματοδοτούμενα από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση, όπως τα Horizon2020 και Erasmus+, όπου συνεργάζεται με διεπιστημονικές ομάδες για την αντιμετώπιση καίριων ζητημάτων στα μέσα ενημέρωσης και την επικοινωνία. Ορισμένα από τα πιο πρόσφατα έργα της περιλαμβάνουν το έργο ONISILOS, και το έργο ISMED Clim που αφορά τους κινδύνους υγείας που σχετίζονται με την κλιματική αλλαγή. Έχει δημοσιεύσει περισσότερα από 20 άρθρα σε κορυφαία επιστημονικά περιοδικά όπως το European Journal of Communication, Digital Journalism, Journalism Practice, Information, Communication & Society, Convergence: The International Journal of New Media Technologies, Journal of Feminist Media Studies και Popular Communication. Συν-έγραψε το βιβλίο «Mobilisations Numériques: Politiques du conflit et technologies médiatiques» (Les Presses des Mines, 2017, στα Γαλλικά), όπου εξετάζει τον ρόλο των ψηφιακών τεχνολογιών στη διαμεσολάβηση πολιτικών συγκρούσεων.
