Andreas Savvides is Professor in the Department of Finance, Accounting and Management Science. He received his undergraduate degree (B.Sc. & B.Com.) in Engineering Production and Economics from the University of Birmingham (U.K.). His completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Florida (U.S.A.) where he received both his M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics with specialization in international finance and economic development. Prior to joining the faculty at CUT, he taught for two decades at Oklahoma State University where he reached the rank of Professor. He has also taught as a visitor at Tulane University, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of Cyprus. His research interests are in the areas of financial markets in emerging economies and human capital and economic growth.

He holds honorary visiting professorships at the School of Economics and Finance, Queen Mary, University of London and School of Business, Economics and Informatics, Birkbeck, University of London, UK. His work has appeared in a number of international academic journals, including the Journal of Economic Dynamics & Control, Computational Statistics & Data Analysis, Journal of Computational and Graphical Statistics, Parallel Computing, and SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications. He has authored and edited books and various special issues of journals on the interface of computing, statistics and econometrics. He is a Co-Editor of the Journal Computational Statistics & Data Analysis (Elsevier) and Associate Editor of the Journal Computational Management Science (Springer).

Neophytos Lambertides holds the position of Professor in Finance in the Department of Finance, Accounting and Management Science. He received his undergraduate degree (BSc) in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Cyprus and postgraduate degree (MSc) in Financial Mathematics from the University of Warwick. He received his PhD in Finance from the University of Cyprus. He was designated as a Visiting Scholar at Columbia Business School in 2006. Prior to joining the faculty at CUT, he was lecturer in finance at Aston Business School. He is working in the area of asset pricing and valuation specialized on the information content of growth options. His current research relates to multiples valuation, growth opportunities, default risk models, payout policy, stock liquidity and leverage. He has published various papers in top tier journals such as Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of International, Money and Finance, Journal of Empirical Finance, Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and Finance, and others. He is an associate editor of The British Accounting Review and member of the editorial board of The International Journal of Accounting.

Panayiotis Andreou is Associate Professor at the Department of Finance, Accounting and Management Science. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Science from the Department of Public and Business Administration at University of Cyprus. He also holds M.Sc. & Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Public and Business Administration at University of Cyprus. From September 2008 until May 2010, he was Lecturer in Finance at Durham Business School, University of Durham. His research interests are in corporate and behavioural finance, corporate governance, financial risk management, asset pricing, and operational research. His research has been published in the Critical Finance Review, Review of Finance, British Journal of Management, Journal of Business Research, British Accounting Review, European Financial Management, and Journal of Banking & Finance. Panayiotis is currently working with the Central Bank of Cyprus on the first study pertaining to issues of financial literacy and inclusion, aiming to benchmark Cyprus against countries included in OECD reports.

Christodoulos Louca is Associate Professor in Finance at the Cyprus University of Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Cyprus. He has previously held post at Durham University. Christodoulos research and teaching activities include corporate finance, behavioral finance, corporate governance and capital markets. He has published widely in these areas in leading academic journals including the Review of Financial Studies, Review of Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Organization Studies.

Dr Elena Kalotychou is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Finance, Accounting and Management Science at the Cyprus University of Technology. Prior to joining CUT in 2017, she has been an Assistant Professor and Director of MSc Investment Management at Cass Business School, City, University of London (2008 - 2017). She obtained her PhD (2004) from the Faculty of Finance at Cass Business School with a scholarship, and was a Post-Doctoral Fellow (2004 - 2005) there, before she was appointed as a Lecturer in Finance (2006 - 2008). Dr Kalotychou graduated from Cambridge University with a BSc and MA degree in Mathematical Tripos funded by a Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Bursary. She got an MSc in Operational Research from the London School of Economics. Dr Kalotychou’s research interests are on empirical asset pricing, corporate governance and risk management. She has published more than 25 articles in peer-reviewed academic journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of International Money and Finance, European Financial Management, Journal of Financial Services Research, International Journal of Forecasting, Journal of Business, Finance and Accounting. Dr Kalotychou has served on the Scientific and Organizing Committees of numerous international conferences and has reviewed manuscripts and proposals for a wide spectrum of peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Dr. Demetris Koursaros is Associate Professor in the Department of Finance, Accounting and Management Science at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) since 2012. He is the Erasmus coordinator of the Department of Finance, Accounting and Management Science and coordinator of the inter-departmental program in management, which runs in cooperation with both departments of the School of Management and Economics. He holds a Bachelor in Economics, (Honors) from the Department of Economics of the University of Cyprus. He holds 2 postgraduate degrees from Columbia University (MA and MPhil) and a PhD in Macroeconomics and Finance from Columbia University, New York.

Anastasia Kopita is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Finance, Accounting and Management Science. She previously held faculty positions at University of Warwick and University of Essex. Petros Alexandrou is Chartered Certified Accountant and has studied Financial Management at Exeter University, Quantitative Finance at London University and Data and Systems Analysis at Oxford University.
He worked as Accountant at various organizations, including Cyprus Development Bank and Cyprus Institute of Technology. He has been teaching Accounting at various institutions including Cyprus University of Technology and European University of Cyprus.
He is member of various professional organizations including the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus, the Cyprus Institute of Internal Auditors, the Association of International Accountants and the European Association of Accountants.

Sofia Andreou completed her undergraduate studies in Economics at the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki (2004) and received her MSc in Economics from the University of Essex (2005) and her PhD in Economics from the University of Cyprus (2011). Previously, she worked as a Postdoctoral Research Officer (2011-2013) and as a Research Associate (2014-2020) at the Economics Research Centre of the University of Cyprus, and as a Visiting Lecturer (2013) and Adjunct Lecturer (2011-2012 and 2014-2018) at the Department of Economics of the University of Cyprus. From September 2020, she holds the position of Special Teaching Staff at the Department of Finance, Accounting and Management Science of the Cyprus University of Technology. Her research interests are in the area of applied economics and econometrics with emphasis on public and welfare economics.

Andreas Kouspos is currently a Ph.D Candidate in Shipping Finance in the Department of Finance, Accounting and Management Science at Cyprus University of Technology. His research interests lie in the area of risk and return of global shipping activities. Before coming to CUT, Andreas graduated from University of Plymouth with the degree of MSc International Shipping. He also holds the degree of BSc Accounting and Finance from University of Essex. Being focused on his professional development, he is also studying for the professional qualification of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. Beyond studies, he has worked in the shipping industry for more than a year. Andreas has also won the 1st prize in Let’s Talk Simple Science Competition that was taken place in April 2016 at CUT with his presentation topic “Credit risk analysis of shipping loans”.

Charis is a Special Scientist in the departments of Cyprus University of Technology a) Finance, Accounting & Management Science, b) Management, Entrepreneurship and Digital Business, as well as a Visiting Lecturer at ICES University, France. He is teaching or co-teaching courses in accounting, finance, and fraud deterrence. At the same time, he holds the position of Senior Audit and Tax Manager at the private audit firm EXSUS Ltd, where, amongst other duties, he leads the training team. His research interests are in the broader field of financial engineering, and more specifically in the subcategories of asset pricing: exotic derivatives and financial risk management.
